YES, THEY CAN LEARN A HARD SKILL, BUT WHAT DO THEY LEARN? THE SOFT SKILLS TO NOT JUST GET THE JOB BUT KEEP THE JOB. SO THAT'S WHAT WE DO WITH MILLION DOLLAR DREAMS. AN AMAZING MILLION DOLLAR DREAM SUCCESS STORY. I WOULD INITIALLY, AS I WAS PREPARING FOR THIS, I WAS LIKE, OKAY, I CAN SAY IT'S CLOSE. I REMEMBER COACHING HIM, MENTORING HIM. HE HAD QUITE THE CHALLENGING CHILDHOOD. MOM WAS ABSENT. FATHER WAS ABSENT. MOM STRUGGLED WITH VARIOUS THINGS.HE WAS AN AWESOME SIBLING. TOOK CARE OF HIS LITTLE BROTHER ONCE HE GRADUATED. GOT HIS GED.
ACTUALLY, HE WAS ABLE TO, YOU KNOW, HE TRIED TO WORK, HE GOT A FAMILY, HE HAD KIDS. HE STILL STRUGGLED. BUT AFTER WE GAVE HIM SOME CAREER COACHING AND BUILT HIM UP, HE WAS ABLE TO BECOME GAINFULLY EMPLOYED, BECAME SUCCESSFUL, FLOURISHED, BECAME AN ENTREPRENEUR. AND NOW HE EMPLOYS OTHERS. SO THAT'S WHAT OUR PROGRAM DOES. WE TAKE THOSE BECAUSE WE KNOW THAT THEY HAVE POTENTIAL, AND WE TURN THAT INTO ACTUAL SUCCESS. OUR PROGRAM STARTED IN INDIANA, AND THEN THAT WAS VIA NONPROFITS. AND THEN WE WENT TO CALIFORNIA THAT LIKE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA, ALAMEDA COUNTY, SOLANO COUNTY, THAT WAS VIA GOVERNMENT AGENCIES. BUT THEN I WAS INVITED BACK HERE TO TEXAS. THERE ARE MANY WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS. YOU ALREADY DO AMAZING THINGS IN WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT.BUT WHAT I SAW THAT WAS LACKING IN WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT ACROSS THE COUNTRY IS A CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE SOLUTION. LIKE WHEN WE START TALKING ABOUT OUR STUDENTS, THE STUDENTS YOU SERVE, THE STUDENTS IN OUR COMMUNITY. THAT'S WHY THERE WAS A GAP AND THEN WE LOSE THEM. AND SO WE CAME UP WITH A CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE. AND THIS IS SOMETHING I DISCOVERED JUST THROUGH MY WORK IN GENERAL, BEING BRIEF. I'M SOR. BUT I WAS TORN. AND SO BY THE TIME I WAS 17, I WAS ARRESTED BY THE FBI. INTERESTINGLY ENOUGH, EVEN THOUGH I MADE STRAIGHT A'S IN SCHOOL, I GOT MORE LOVE WHEN I GOT ARRESTED. SO I FOCUSED ON BEING THE BEST. AT THE WORST, I REALIZED THAT I COULD GET THE MOST LOVE. TO ME, THAT WAS LOGICAL. NOW WE REALIZE THAT THAT WAS ILLOGICAL, BUT WITHOUT MENTORSHIP AND GUIDANCE, THAT'S WHERE I WAS GOING. THAT'S WHY WE FOCUS A LOT ON MENTORSHIP. BY THE TIME I WAS 20, I WAS CONVICTED OF FOUR FELONIES, WENT TO THE TEXAS STATE PENITENTIARY.
AS I SAT IN PRISON, I REALIZED LIFE IS A SUM TOTAL OF THE CHOICES YOU MAKE. I CHANGED MY CHOICES, CHANGED MY LIFE, BECAME AN ANOMALY. GOT INTO THE PRESTIGIOUS UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AND GRADUATED WITH A 4.0. OKAY, Y'ALL MISSED IT. THAT'S WHAT PEOPLE USUALLY CLAP. ALL RIGHT.

AND FOR 107 IT WAS 2027. BUT WE'RE REQUESTING A ONE YEAR EXTENSION FOR BOTH LOTS. AND THIS IS MAINLY DUE TO THREE UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES. AND THAT KIND OF. DELAYED THE APPROVAL FOR OUR FOR OUR CONSTRUCTION. AND SECOND, THE SECOND REASON WAS THAT WE THERE WERE LOTS OF REVIEWS AND COMMENTS FOR SITE PLAN.
