WHEREAS THE HISPANIC AND LATINO COMMUNITIES HAVE PLAYED A VITAL ROLE SHAPING OUR HISTORY, CULTURE AND PROGRESS IN OUR NATION STATE AND OUR CITY. I KNOW WE HAVE TAX RATE HERE AND COMING UP, BUT I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THAT THIS BUDGET DOES NOT REQUEST OR OR LOOK TOWARDS A TAX RATE INCREASE IN THE COMMUNITY. AND I THINK THAT'S THAT'S IMPORTANT WORK. AND I KNOW THIS WAS PART OF WHAT COUNCIL MEMBERS HAD HAD TALKED ABOUT. AND, AND OUR ONE OF OUR BUDGET WORKSHOPS TO ENSURE THAT WE LOOKED FOR WAYS TO MAINTAIN. WHAT WE HAVE ESTABLISHED AND TAKE CARE OF OUR NEEDS, BUT NOT RAISE TAXES.

SO AGAIN, CITY STAFF, WE DEFINITELY APPRECIATE YOU ALL DILIGENCE AND LOOKING AT HOW TO MAKE SURE THAT THAT COULD HAPPEN, BECAUSE THAT'S, AGAIN, MOST FOLKS THAT ARE IN THIS REGION ARE NOT DOING THAT. IN REGARDS TO EFFICIENCIES, I WONDER BECAUSE I KNOW WE HAVE TIME BETWEEN NOW AND WHEN WE HAVE TO DO THE OFFICIAL VOTING OF THE BUDGET. I WONDER IF THERE'S A WAY TO LOOK AT EFFICIENCIES IN THE VACANCIES AND THE THE CURRENT VACANCIES PER DEPARTMENT, AND THE REQUEST TO SEE IF THERE'S MAYBE A WAY TO LIMIT THE STAFF REQUESTS AND REPURPOSE MAYBE SOME OF THE VACANCIES TO THE REQUEST, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN? SO THAT WE DON'T HAVE, YOU KNOW, TWO VACANCIES THAT ARE OUT OF HERE FOR A WHILE. AND THEN WE'RE SAYING WE NEED THESE OTHER TWO POSITIONS HERE, BUT MAYBE WE LOOK AT INSTEAD, SINCE WE COULDN'T FILL THOSE TWO POSITIONS, REPURPOSING THOSE POSITIONS TO THE ACTUAL NEED OR TO THE TO THE NEW REQUESTS, ESPECIALLY IF WE BELIEVE WE CAN GET THAT POSITION. ALSO, MAYBE LOOKING INTO. AND SO MAYBE LOOKING AT ALL OF THOSE THINGS AND PACKAGING A RECRUITMENT AT SOME RECRUITMENT ADVERTISEMENT THAT SAYS, HEY, NOT ONLY DO YOU GET TO ENJOY THIS GREAT STAFF, BUT IT'S A LITTLE BIT MORE MONEY. AND WE HAVE HOUSING. THAT THAT'S AFFORDABLE. SO JUST SOMETHING TO CONSIDER BETWEEN NOW AND THAT NEXT MEETING FOR THAT.
